On-the-Spot Gear Stand

Bring light to new areas with a flexible gear stand

Family Handyman

I bought a couple of flexible gear ties at my local hardware store for twisting together trim and holding skis to my car rack. Now I keep one with my portable flashlight for setting it up at just the right angle when I’m working in dark corners. You just bend the ties and they hold that shape until you’re ready to change it. They cost about $5 a pair. — Mike Grimm
