How To Make a DIY Gift Wrap Organizer
Keep your gift wrapping paper save for the next occasion by utilizing a garment bag.
Gift wrap is sold by the roll, not by the gift, so it’s likely that you’ll have some left over at the end of the season. Families often keep several rolls of gift wrap on hand for birthdays, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and other gift-giving holidays. All those supplies — wrapping paper, ribbons, bows, stickers, boxes and more — can turn into a big mess without proper holiday storage. A gift wrap organizer is also important for longevity, since wrapping paper gets discolored, torn and misshapen easily. Thoughtful gift wrap storage ensures that your stash lasts until next year. A good gift wrap organizer keeps those rolls dry and out of the way.
This hanging gift wrap organizer is a cheap and easy DIY. It’s genius — and so simple you’ll wonder how you didn’t think of it sooner.
Hanging Gift Wrap Organizer
To keep your supplies ready for the next time you need to wrap a gift, try this tip from Family Handyman reader Sue Rosenkranz:
I used to keep rolls of gift wrapping paper under a bed or in the corner of a closet, making them hard to get at and covering them with dust. And then I’d go hunting for scissors and tape. To make wrapping presents easier, I now use a clear garment bag as a portable gift wrap organizer. It’s great for storing all my ribbons, bows, tape and scissors — all clearly visible and grouped together. I just hang it in the closet until I need it, and I can carry the whole shebang to the dining room table whenever I have a big wrapping project.
