Golf Ball Sink Stopper
Shore up your sink with a golf ball sink stopper
When I was washing golf balls in the laundry tub, one of them rolled into the drain. It stopped the water completely and was a lot easier to remove than our normal drain plug. It works so well that during a recent hurricane, the golf ball held a supply of water in our tub for three days while we waited out the storm. To make it even easier to remove from the drain, I drilled a pilot hole and attached an eye screw with a string tied on it. Hole in one! — George Leslie

We encourage readers to drill only into golf balls they’re certain have solid-core centers. Liquid-core balls can eject liquid under high pressure, and a few of these are still being made.
