Reader Project: Bike Storage on the Wall

I thought I would share the bike wall storage I made in my garage. If you have a finished garage the first thing you want is to hang the bikes so that they are out of the way. The last thing you want is to have tire marks on the painted wall.
I purchased two 2-ft. sections of black ABS pipe from the local hardware store and four large wall hooks. I cut the ABS pipe in half lengthwise to create the tire tracks. Then I attached each track to a stud in the wall using two drywall screws. Then I drilled a hole for each hook and installed the hooks.
All in all: To hang four bikes, I spent about $30 and the project took about 45 minutes to complete. — Wade Rinehardt
