Kathleen Purvis is a journalist with more than 40 years of experience in food and beverage coverage, recipe testing and product testing. She's a freelance writer based in Charlotte, NC, where she and her husband have overseen many improvements on their vintage, mid-century modern home. Her work has appeared in many magazines, including Southern Living, Garden & Gun and Imbibe. She's the author of three books from University of North Carolina Press, including "Pecans" and "Bourbon" in the Savor the South series, and "Distilling the South," on touring Southern craft distilleries.
