A New-Home Building Boom
In the year following the 2008 market crash, fewer than 600,000 residential building permits were issued, according to a report from ApartmentGuide.com and data provided by the U.S. Census Bureau Building Permits Survey. Flash forward a decade to 2018, and that number has increased to 1.3 million. Of course, those homes vary greatly in value. Following is the study’s ranking of America’s top ten most valuable new home markets.
#9: Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, Washington
In Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue, Wash., the average estimated value of a single-family home constructed in 2019 was $348,100.
#6: Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, Florida
In Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach, Fla., the average estimated value of a single-family home constructed in 2019 was $357,900.
#3: San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward, California
In San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward, Calif., the average estimated value of a single-family home constructed in 2019 was $390,200.
